Our team at Skyline Services, Inc. knows you care about your home or business, and we want to help you keep it looking its best. One thing you’ll need to do in order to ensure your property looks great and everyone in it can breathe easy is keep your carpet clean. In this article, we’ll provide a basic overview of best practices for carpet cleaning to help you take the best care of your carpets.

  • Vacuum Regularly – The main thing you’ll need to do to keep your carpet clean is vacuum it regularly—we recommend at least once a week, and twice a week for high-traffic areas. Vacuuming is a key part of any carpet cleaning routine because it removes dirt particles and allergens from the carpet fibers, which helps reduce wear and tear and makes the carpet smell fresher.
  • Treat Stains Right Away – Another key principle of effective carpet cleaning is to treat stains as soon as possible. When dealing with a stain, first remove any solid material, then blot the liquid with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel to lift as much of it as possible. Then dampen another clean cloth and gently blot the area to remove even more of the stain. Finally, treat the area with a stain remover to prevent the stain from setting.
  • Use Professional Cleaning Services – Lastly, we recommend using professional carpet cleaning services on your carpet at least once a year, and more often if your carpet gets a lot of foot traffic. Our team will deep clean your carpet to remove dirt that your ordinary vacuum can’t reach and leave it looking (and smelling) like new.
